Tungsten has high chemical stability. At room temperature, tungsten does not change in dry air, but in humid air, tungsten will slowly oxidize. At high temperatures, tungsten reacts with oxygen, carbon monoxide, nitrogen and water vapor. If the tungsten wire is heated in air, when it reaches 400℃, tungsten will quickly react with oxygen and an oxide film will begin to form on the surface. As the temperature rises, oxidation intensifies. When it reaches 700℃, tungsten is covered with WOs, which is a yellow powder at 1000℃.
