1. Fading Light can cause paint and dyes to fade. The reasons are:
(1) The energy of light with a wavelength shorter than 580nm has a fading effect;
(2) The shorter the wavelength of light (the greater the photon energy), the greater the fading effect.
2. Light source for fading test The standard for light sources for color fastness tests stipulates that there are three types of light sources: fluorescent lamps, Xenon Lamps, and carbon arc lamps. In addition, there are also studies on using mercury lamps for fading tests. In general, this type of lamp uses a double-layer tube, that is, an inner and outer tube form, to remove short-wavelength ultraviolet rays to prevent wavelengths below 300nm from radiating out of the lamp.
