Introduction of translucent ceramics, one of the materials for producing light bulbs
Glass containing silicon dioxide is easily corroded by alkali metal vapor under high temperature and high pressure, so it is required to prepare bulb materials that are resistant to chemical corrosion under high temperature and high pressure, especially high-pressure sodium lamps. The progress of modern ceramic technology has made it possible to produce polycrystalline metal oxides that almost reach the theoretical density. Products made of this material have basically no pores and can transmit most of the incident visible light; and because of its good heat resistance, it has become an effective material for making high-temperature bulbs. Alumina, ordinary spinel, magnesium oxide, beryllium oxide, zirconium oxide, thorium oxide and various rare earth oxides are all materials for making translucent ceramics. #knowledge sharing #reading sharing
