The airtightness of glass with other materials, especially metal materials, is one of the important conditions for selecting glass as a light bulb material. In order to make an ideal stress-free seal with metal, glass must have the following properties:
(1) The expansion coefficient of glass must be equal to that of metal over a large temperature range, especially from annealing temperature to room temperature.
(2) It must be easy to process in the sealing area.
(3) It must have a high chemical resistance to atmospheric erosion.
(4) It must be able to meet the requirements of resistivity, dielectric constant and dielectric loss.
(5) It must be very uniform and its properties must not be affected by furnace batches.
